PHIL TARVER

FINDS A  “PLACE OF WORSHIP” ON NEW DVD

NEW CONCERT FILM OF GOLD-SELLING SHEKINAH GLORY MINISTRY’S PRAISE & WORSHIP LEADER IS IN STORES NOW

Kingdom Records has released the brilliant live concert DVD of praise and worship master Phil Tarver’s Top 10 CD release, Place of Worship (Kingdom Records /$13.98 SRLP), his third U.S. solo project. The dynamic set of songs was recorded live before an overflow crowd of 3,000 fervent worshippers at Valley Kingdom Ministries International’s main sanctuary in Oak Forest, IL in February 2010. With a stellar band and full-throttle backing vocalists (including a cameo by label mate Tonya Baker), Tarver performed over a dozen original praise and worship tunes that stylistically ranged from smooth jazz ballads and Caribbean rhythms to pulsating funk-rock vamps on “Warriors” that Tarver said were for the head-bangers as the audience shook their fists in solidarity.

Tarver is the worship leader for the million-selling Shekinah Glory Ministry – a dynamic ensemble of psalmists, minstrels, praise dancers, and banner bearers who say that they perform “under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. “ Their Hebrew name means “the glorified presence of God.” Their CDs Praise is What I Do (#5 peak Top Gospel Albums) and Shekinah Glory Ministry Live (#3 peak Top Gospel Albums – 103 weeks on the chart) were both certified gold in 2005 and 2008 respectively. The Shekinah Glory Ministry Live DVD was certified gold and platinum in the summer of 2008. Tarver is their worship and praise leader. He’s recorded four solo CDs (including one only available in South America). His prior CD Draw Nearer features the Top 20 single “Better Than That.” To learn more, visit www.kingdomrecordsinc.com.

Believe it or not unlike the Brits in The top Exotic Marigold Hotel, who want to leave England I might really like to retire to England. I love that country!
