First Lady Vanessa Long gave an inspirational speech to the Heart to Heat women’s ministry of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. She spoke about standing by her husband, Bishop Eddie Long, during all his sexual misconduct allegations, among other accusations, back in 2010. Earlier this year she decided to divorce the bishop, however, she changed her mind and decided to stay in the marriage. Clearly a strong woman, Elder Vanessa compares her experience during that time with standing through a storm. Check out the short video below to hear her brief, powerful testimony.

Yay for gal upholding the sanctity of her marriage, however great a pervert and heretic her husband may be. Since he seemed to pay off those who accused him of the former, the full story may never be known by none but the Lord (that he was even accused by that many young men of buggering them doesn’t speak well of Fast Eddie in the first place, now does it?!), and with his years of heterodox word o’ faith teaching (not to mention the abomination of his being crowned king-?!?!-earlier this year with no objection by him to the affront to the Lord such a thing is), he certainly continues to porve himself to be the latter. Would that the women who felt ministered to by Mrs, Long’s talk find churches where Scripture is properly exegeted and preached from a properly historical-grammatical hermeneutic and leave a strange fire- bringin’ Eddie in the dust of the deception he promulgates. Assuming Vanessa knew of Eddie’s Scripture-twisting ways and that he was twisting them back when they got together, it doesn’t speak well to her biblical discernment to marry and encourage the so-called ministry of such a man, though.
