Tyscot Records Continues To Hone Brilliant, New Talent With Multiple Stellar Award Nominations For Newcomers Tiff Joy And Bri

After 40 years in the music industry, Tyscot Records continues to break new artists in the field of faith-based music. Two of the firm’s youngest artists, TIFF JOY and Bri, have received multiple Stellar Awards nominations for their respective debut projects.

TIFF JOY, a dynamic singer, songwriter and worship leader, rose to fame as the composer and soloist on Ricky Dillard & New G’s No. 1 hit, “Amazing.” Her self-titled inaugural album featured the radio hits, “The Promise” and “Oh, How We Love YOU.”  The project has now earned the Chicago native her first Stellar Award nomination as an artist in the category of Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year.
Louisiana native Bri (Briana Babineaux) was propelled to cyber stardom based on a variety of social media posts of her passionately singing on a couch, surrounded by her friends. Her first album, Keys To My Heart, shot to No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Albums sales chart last spring.  The set features the radio hits, “I’ll Be the One” and “Jacob’s Song.” Bri has now picked up three Stellar Award nominations in the categories of Albertina Walker Female Vocalist of the Year, Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year and the much coveted, New Artist of the Year.

“Our 2017 nominees represent the strongest group of Gospel artists and songs in our 32-year history of the Stellar Awards,” Stellar Awards founder, Don Jackson, said in a statement. “This years large number of artists who are first-time nominees is a positive testament to the new and upcoming artists in Gospel Music, as well as, a reflection of the tremendous growth of the Gospel music genre.”

The visionary co-founder of Tyscot Records, Dr. Leonard Scott, will receive special recognition in observance of Tyscot’s 40th anniversary when he is inducted into the Stellar Honors Hall of Fame. Tyscot’s multi-award winning recording artist Anthony Brown (of Anthony Brown & group therAPy) will co-host the 32nd Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards with gospel music legend and media personality, Erica Campbell.

The Stellar Awards take place at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 25, 2017. The telecast will premiere on TV One Sunday, April 9 at 7 p.m. ET with encores at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET.
