Poll: Rapper’s Album Cover Depicts “Gangster” Jesus, Is It Offensive or Artistic Expression?

A few weeks ago we did an article on Rappers DMX and The Game giving their opposite viewpoints on religion and faith. Everyone who commented on the post sided with DMX, showing approval of his opinion, while distinctly disagreeing with The Game. Another thing revealed in the article was The Game’s plan to release an album titled, “Jesus Piece”. Staying true to his word, the rapper decided to reveal the cover artwork of the upcoming project. Take a look at the picture below and let us know what you think, do you find it offensive/blasphemous or do you think it’s just artistic expression?

In regard to his upcoming album “Jesus Piece”, The Game says, “I’m calling it ‘Jesus Piece’ ’cause last year in August I got baptized and so I’ve been going to church, but I still been kinda doing me out here. I still love the strip club and I still smoke and drink. I’m faithful to my family, so I wanted to make an album where you could love God and be of God, but still get it poppin’ in your life.”

He continues, “I’m a Christian but I’m not ‘holier than thou.’ You can still have swag and be a Christian, you ain’t gotta wear a suit to church, you ain’t gotta take a bath in Holy water,” the rapper told Vibe. “You can still have your Ciroc in the club, it’s just a faith thing and making sure you try to do right. I’m still a father, I still smoke, I still rep Compton, I still might shoot dice or have a fight if I have to defend myself.”

‘Jesus Piece’ gives me an opportunity to speak about situations that people like me who love God but are still street and still wanna remain themselves without going the Pastor Mase route,” the rapper says. “It gives the opportunity to know that it’s somebody out there that feels them.”

Praise God for his “faith” only God knows the heart of man – it’s our job as disciples to introduce the lost to Christ and it’s God’s job to clean them up.

Jesus talking to the woman caught in adultery
said to her go and sin no more. so its not good to live a sinful life after you meet Christ and claim you are representing him.yes there is grace but lets not take advantage of grace its the worst you could do for the one who loves us.
