*Update* Mega-Church Pastor Arrested for Simple Battery Against Daughter

Mega-church Pastor Creflo Dollar Jr, was arrested for simple battery charges in Fayette County last Friday. Pastor Dollar’s bond was set at $5,000 after being placed in the county jail at the wee hours of the morning. Pastor Dollar was arrested at his home after a 911 call from his 15 year old daughter was made. She claimed her father attacked her after a heated argument.

According to Fayette County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, Lt. Brent Rowan, a witness told authorities that Pastor Dollar grabbed his daughter by the throat and choked her, which caused a scratch on her neck.

Although Pastor Dollar had no comment for his congregation, he did say “Discipline my kid. Love ‘em,” as he left the county jail that morning. Dollar is the founder and senior pastor of World Changers Church in the College Park section of Atlanta. The church has nearly 30,000 members and includes satellite campuses in 10 cities.

Pastor Dollar addressed the situation to his congregation this past Sunday. “I want you to hear it personally from me, all is well in the Dollar household,” he said. “A family conversation with our youngest daughter got emotional. Things escalated from there. She was not choked. She was not punched. Anything else is exaggeration and sensationalism.”
