Maria Jenkins new CD, “The Journey of a Worshipper,” debuted at #20 on the Gospel Album Billboard Chart and #20 on the Heatseekers Billboard Chart as well this week.
“I am so blessed and excited about what the Lord is doing in this season of my life. The testimonies that I have received from people who have listened to this project have truly blessed me. To be on the Gospel Billboard Chart is a double honor,” said Jenkins.
Known as one the premier worship leaders on the East Coast, Jenkins took a step out on faith and recorded this album as an independent artist in September of 2010. The twelve-track CD was recorded live at Jenkins’ home church, Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church, in Washington, D.C. where Bishop Alfred Owens Jr. and Co-Pastor Susie Owens are the pastors.
“This CD was birthed from experience after experience with God, trials and tribulations, obstacles and triumphant victories that are a testament to the life that I have sought to lead and the amazing power of God to transcend every situation good and bad.”
Today, Simply Worship Music released the first music video from the project entitled, “I Believe.” This video takes you into the intimate worship which took place at the live recording and is being felt by listeners across the country through this project.
