Gospel Recording Artist, Eunice Wright’s Successful Surgery to Donate Kidney to Son

National recording artist Eunice Wright had surgery today to donate a kidney to her 19-year old son, Tony.  Tony was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), a condition where both of his kidneys have completely shut down.  After a year of preparation, this morning, the two underwent surgery and are now recovering.  Label executive Carlos Cannon Sr. released the following statement at June 22 at 6:00 PM (EST):

God is good! I would just like to thank everyone for their prayers on today.  I am pleased to announce that both of the surgeries were successful and everything went very well.  Eunice and Tony are in their rooms resting.  We appreciate the outpour of love and support shown toward the Wright, Purnell, & Joyful Noyze families over the last few days since the news of the procedure was made public.  To all the fans, industry professionals, fellow artists, radio stations, and supporters – we thank you and we love you!  Let’s continue to keep them in our prayers for speedy recoveries! Thanks and may God bless you all!”

Wright announced last week (June 20, 2012) that she would be donating a kidney to her teenage son who has been without fully functioning kidneys for more than two and a half years.  She is expected to be back in full force in approximately four to six weeks.  Tony’s recovery, according to doctors, is estimated to be a year.
