Bishop Long can not hide too much longer from these allegations. Jamal Parris, one of the men who has accused the Bishop has spoken out.
“You look at our eyes,” Parris said. “You hear the pain in our voice. We have no reason to lie to this man.”
Parris is one of four young men who have filed sexual misconduct lawsuits against the Bishop Long and the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, accusing him of using scripture and church money to seduce them.
On Sunday, Bishop Long spoke for the first time, never flatly denying the claims, but vowing to fight. “I am not the man being portrayed on the television,” Long said Sunday. “That’s not me.”
In response, Jamal Parris, looks straight into the camera and says:
“That man cannot look me in my eye and tell me we did not live this pain,” Parris said. “Why you can sit in front of the church and tell them that you categorically deny it. You can’t say that to our face. And you know this. You are not a man, you are a monster.”
