The recent Independent Gospel Artists Alliance Music Conference held in Chesapeake, VA proved to be a gathering of the industries’ most talented indie artists. Established acts, as well as the up and coming participated in classes, networking sessions and showcases. The highlight of the conference was the 2nd Annual Gospel Blue M.I.C. Achievement Awards. This year’s Male Artist of The Year honor was awarded to Christian music newcomer Javon Inman. Inman, who resides in the Washington DC Metro area, also took home a second award for Single of the Year. His award winning radio hit “Redeemer” has been gaining favorable radio airplay and is becoming a favorite for worship services across the country.
Inman was also awarded one of two national distribution contracts sponsored by Central South Distribution and New Day Christian Distributors. Inman’s project HEART OF A WORSHIPER was selected by Central South Distribution and will be made available in stores this fall.
To top off the weekend, Inman and his singers were featured performers during one of the IGAA Conference music showcases. His dynamic presentation sparked a fire of uncontrollable praise that lingered throughout the night and had conference goers seeking more of his anointed music ministry.
The former R&B singer has become a passionate songwriter, following the voice of the Lord to utilize his gifts for The Kingdom. “I love singing, but something extremely incredible happens when a simple melody or lyric is crafted into beautiful poetry set to music,” Inman explains. “It’s nothing but God!”
