Award-winning Gospel Announcer, Reggie Gay, to Host Live Radio Show

reggiegayMany know Reggie Gay as a trendsetter when it comes to Gospel radio.  Having been in the trenches for over 20 years, he’s one of the most popular announcers in the genre.  Those in Atlanta remember him on KISS 104 and Glory 1340.  Currently, Gospel music fans recognize him as the voice of Gospel music on WYZE 1480AM on Sunday Afternoons from 2 – 5PM ET.  The Reggie Gay Gospel Show is heard not only locally in Atlanta, but the syndicated program also has radio affiliates in Chicago, IL, Cincinnati, OH, Greenville, SC, Louisville, KY and Nashville, TN.  Now the multiple award-winning announcer is ready to showcase some of the artists heard on his popular radio show live during an upcoming Gospel concert.

On Sunday, March 30, 2014, Gay will do his radio show live on AM 1480 WYZE, Atlanta and on ReggieGay.com at Grace Community Christian Church (3737 Stilesboro Road, NW, Kennesaw, GA) at 3PM ET.  The free concert will feature the Grace Community Christian Choir, Walt Beasley & The Gospel Explosions, Roxanne Broadnax & New Direction, James Jackson & Atlanta Praise, Kevin Styles & Psalms, Gabriel Powell, Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of Music and the Legendary Dorothy Norwood.  All the singers will be taped to air on his television show on Atlanta’s 57, WATC-TV and on ReggieGay.com. The website, ReggieGay.com, is the central location for all things Reggie Gay and now the site is getting a facelift. Soon Gospel music fans will be able to enjoy both the radio program and previous airings of the Reggie Gay Gospel TV show on the new site, which debuts on Tuesday, April 1st during his telecast.  A popular television program, the broadcast was inspired by the patriarch of Gospel TV, Dr. Bobby Jones.  At a taping at BET Studios, Gay was encouraged to showcase local talent in the Atlanta area on his own show, which began in October 2010.

In addition to TV, ReggieGay.com will stream Gospel music 24/7/365 and there will be apps for iPhone and Android phones.  Gifted in two mediums, Gay plans to take Gospel music to another level with his new website via radio and television.

Reggie Gay received his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting from Eastern Kentucky University.  His programs have been syndicated through Cumulus Radio Network on WQQK FM, known as 92Q, in Nashville, TN and WKXS FM, KISS 94.1, in Wilmington, NC.  Since that time, he has served in various roles including Program Manager at Glory 1340 and AM 1480 WYZE and Assistant General Manager at AM 1260 WTJH. He was featured as the band announcer for the Morris College Marching Wolverines in the hit movie, “Drum Line”.  The licensed and ordained minister is a member of the Stellar Awards Advisory Board and a recipient of the 2012 Atlanta Gospel Choice Broadcast Legend Award, the 2012 Dekalb County African American Men In Gospel Award and the 2013 Brother Esmond Patterson Lifetime Achievement Radio Award.
