Oscar award-winning actor, Morgan Freeman, shocked the world, well at least the Gospel Community, after an interview with TheWrap.com. Shockingly, Freeman admits that he doesn’t believe in a creator, God, who created us all.
He’s not clear on whether or not he considers himself an Atheist or Agnostic, however, he does think we (people) invented God. He goes on to say that if he did believe in God, it’s because he thinks he, himself, is God. Check out an excerpt from the interview below.
TheWrapUp: Did we invent God?
Freeman: Yes.
TheWrapUp: So there isn’t a God up in the sky somewhere. We came up with God ourselves.
Freeman: Well, here’s a scientific question: Has anybody ever seen hard evidence? What we get is theories from our earlier prophets. Now, people who think that God invented us think that the Earth can’t be more than 6,000 years old. So I guess it’s a question of belief. My belief system doesn’t support a creator as such, as we can call God, who created us in His/Her/Its image.
TheWrapUp: Would you consider yourself an atheist, or agnostic?
Freeman: It’s a hard question because as I said at the start, I think we invented God. So if I believe in God, and I do, it’s because I think I’m God.

One person commented on the post, “I’m always amazed at how much non-believers focus on why believers have faith that there is a God. If you do not believe, fine. What’s the point of trying to belittle someone else’s belief (faith) especially if all they are doing is trying to live and lead a decent productive life? Atheists rarely seem to be able to disagree without being condescending and mean.”
While another who agrees with Freeman says, “It does not take a genius to get that God is a lie used to control people. Always was and always will be until you people wake up!”

It is amazing that man needs so much proof. I’ve never seen an ape evolve into man yet non-believers seem to accept it as scientific fact. There are a number of things we have never scene – all we have are theories, yet we are comfortable espousing them as fact. There is a creator of all this and I choose to call him GOD. The Creator is GOD.

Yeah…so now you’re an atheist. Black atheists hardly existed before WWII. How could you deny the existence of the very One on whom you were depending for your next meal, and the only One who could protect you from the end of a rope attached to one of those nice strong southern trees? Now that we can make a little more than our daily bread, we deny God. i don’t need any scientist to verify what every fiber of my being already knows. God says he placed the seed of everything within itself, so that all of His creatures REproduce after THEIR OWN KIND. In Origin of Species, Darwin essentially said that things PRODUCE after another kind. With approximately 13 billion human eyeballs watching over 100,000 species for say maybe 100 years, not a single human eye has EVER seen any of God’s creatures produce ANY species other than themselves. So where is the scientific proof for Macro-evolution? Morgan is a making choice, and science has little to do with it.

If morgan is right and I am wrong we will both turn to worm food when we die and what will it matter what either of us believed, BUT if I am right and he is wrong we will both stand before God and have to explane to God why we believed or didnot,,,id hate to be morgan then
