Things are really popping for the elementary school teacher that radio listeners now know as Casey J. The 28 year old educator has stormed the gospel charts with the rousing gospel radio smash “Fill Me Up” which entered the Billboard Gospel Airplay Top Ten three weeks ago and is now #7 with a bullet. “Dreams and visions do come true,” the Atlanta native says. “Just recently my dream of being on the Bobby Jones Gospel TV show was realized and today I wake up to being in the Top Ten on a Billboard chart. I know it has nothing to do with me as an individual. God is just creating another platform for Him to receive glory and it’s just happening through me and I am so thankful.”
The soul-stirring song mid-tempo worship anthem “Fill Me Up” was written by Will Reagan who also wrote Tasha Cobbs’ breakthrough #1 radio smash “Break Every Chain.” For Casey J, the song is an extension of her rich musical legacy. Both her mother and grandmother sang in the choir at Lily Hill Baptist Church and she herself grew up singing in church. “The song is a flashback of the true worship experience I remember having during church in my grandmother’s basement,” she recalls.
Casey J is sharing that same worship experience on the road where her touring calendar is filling up as well. ON December 15th she heads to Italy for two weeks of concerts and then returns to the states in time to ring in the New Year at Fresh Start Church in Duluth, GA.
