Brian Courtney Wilson CD Still Has Staying Power After 88 Weeks on Charts

Music World Gospel recording artist Brian Courtney Wilson’s debut CD, JUST LOVE, proves he has staying power. After 88 weeks, Wilson’s CD remains on Billboard’s Top Gospel Album chart in the Top 20—longer than any other CD title on Billboard’s Top 50.  In June 2009, JUST LOVE debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top Gospel Album chart and #6 on Billboard’s Top Christian Album chart. The CD also remained at #1 on Christian Music Trade Association’s (CMTA) Inspirational Album chart for 52 weeks.

“We are pleased but not surprised at the success of Brian’s debut project,” said Mathew Knowles, founder, President and CEO of Music World Entertainment. “For nearly two years, this project has continued to break records and make Billboard chart history.  I knew when I first heard Brian sing that he had something very special and we have been excited to watch him develop as an artist. Brian is preparing to go back into the studio and we fully expect that his new project, which will be released in the fall, will be every bit as uplifting and successful as his first one.”

During the month of February, JUST LOVE is a featured title in the Wal-Mart Black History Month campaign and the single “Believe” is included on Amazon’s Valentine’s Day Playlist. Wilson was also nominated for the 2011 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Gospel Album (Traditional or Contemporary). The 42nd NAACP Image Award will be broadcasted live on March 4, from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, and aired on FOX-TV at 8:00 p.m. EST/7:00 p.m. CST.

Wilson’s year-end results in Billboard magazine further prove and solidify the continued success of this ground-breaking project. Wilson was named Billboard’s #2 Hot Gospel Songs Artist and the #8 Top Gospel Album Artist. Wilson’s debut single, “All I Need,” was #4 on the Hot Gospel chart and the CD was #7 on the Gospel Albums chart. In addition, “All I Need” was #10 on the Gospel Digital Songs chart and “Just Love,” Wilson’s third single from his  CD was #33 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart. Award-winning and acclaimed music producer Stan Jones (Just Love and Just Love Deluxe Edition) was Billboard’s #4 Hot Gospel Producer of 2010. Overall, Just Love was #30 on the Top Christian/Gospel Album charts.

Currently, Wilson has four active singles at radio, all charting on Billboard’s radio charts.  The first single, “All I Need,” was the longest-running single last year, charting for 92 weeks on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Song chart. This week, the single is #2 on Billboard’s Gospel Recurrent chart. And Wilson’s current single, “Awesome God,” is #19 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Song chart.
