Musical Director Damien Sneed joined six-time GRAMMY® Award-winning recording artist BeBe Winans and Friends with the award-winning Young People’s Chorus of New York® and The New York City Pops Orchestra. Winans special guests included multiple GRAMMY® Award-winning recording artists Hezekiah Walker and Dorinda Clark Cole at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall.
Under Sneed’s musical direction, the band also featured some of New York City’s top musicians including Stanley Brown (organ/keyboards), Chelton Grey (bass), and Isaiah Johnson (drums), along with the acclaimed New York City Pops Orchestra. Winans performed “Born for This” and “Black Lives Matters.” Clark Cole performed “Write My Name” “Livin’ It” and Walker performed “Every Praise” and “I Need You to Survive.”
“I love performing at all the venues at Jazz at Lincoln Center—especially the Frederick P. Rose Hall. The acoustics in that hall is amazing,” says Sneed. “I enjoyed working with my friends BeBe, and Dorinda, as well as Bishop Hezekiah Walker, who I have worked with for many years in the Gospel music industry. It was a joy performing under the baton of Maestro Francisco Nunez, along with the 400 children in the Young People’s Chorus of New York. Hopefully, it won’t be the last. It was a great concert.”
