2016 is shaping up to be another busy year for chart-topper Jonathan McReynolds as he garners 5 Stellar Award nominations, in the just-announced nominations for the upcoming 31st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, taping next month. One of the top-nominated artists during the early voting process, McReynolds is nominated across major categories for his #1 sophomore album Life Music: Stage Two, for Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year. His album’s refreshing hit single “Gotta Have You,” has nominations for Urban/Inspirational Single or Performance of the Year and Music Video of the Year (dir: Derek Blanks). Celebrating multiple Stellar Award nominations marks more milestones for McReynolds, who also recently garnered his first GRAMMY® nomination, in the category of Best Gospel Album for the 2016 GRAMMY® Awards next month.
He continues a busy slate of touring around the world and upcoming appearances, which include performing this month on BET’s “Celebration of Gospel” (airing January 31st) and in concert at the Hackney Empire Theatre in London, England (January 23rd). His 2016 follows a banner year for Jonathan McReynolds in 2015 with the acclaimed release of his much-anticipated second album Life Music: Stage Two, launching a hit run of four consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart. McReynolds took his music across the country and worldwide, with numerous highlights in 2015 appearing at the Stellar Awards, Dove Awards, a repeat appearance at the Essence Festival, touring in Germany, Norway and more.
