A Memphis pastor, Reverend Frank Ray, is accused of trying to run over his wife, Deborah Ray, in his $150,000 Bentley two weeks ago. Mrs. Ray claims that she was standing in the driveway of their home when Reverend Ray, of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, tried to run her down. Mrs. Ray told sheriff deputies that her estranged husband showed up at their home on May 25, 2012 and accused her of driving his Bentley while he was out of town. She says an argument followed and that’s when the Reverend tried to run her down.
A member of Reverend Ray’s congregation believes the story is farfetched. He believes Mrs. Ray is using the story to hurt the Reverend because she knows he is in the public eye. On the other hand, a female member of the church says she does believe Mrs. Ray’s story and it doesn’t sit well with her. She says that the Reverend is supposed to be Godly and Christ-like, which his accused actions aren’t.
When asked about the situation by a reporter, Mrs. Ray claimed she wasn’t at liberty to talk about it. Only three people know what really happened in this situation, Reverend Ray, Mrs. Ray and God. So whether he did in fact try to run her over or she is exaggerating the truth, God knows what really happened and the truth shall come to the light.
