Life on the road with Shirley Murdock is more than tour buses, interviews and performances. It’s an occasion of ministry allowing her to encourage the lives of her devoted and countless fans.
On July 23, 2011, Shirley ministered to her fans during an unforgettable live concert at the Kuhlman Center in Richmond, IN.
One of the many embellishments that made it memorable was the debut performance of Murdock’s new single “Dream”. Before the concert, fans congregated and made early requests for Shirley’s product and promotional items. It was evident that the city of Richmond was aware of Shirley’s call to ministry, as they spoke in candid conversations of her humble spirit and inspiring music.
As Shirley exited her tour bus and entered the stage, the crowd cheered her on with applause and smiles. Fans quickly vibed with Shirley as she sang a few songs from her previous gospel project Soulfood. During her phenomenal performance, Shirley touched the audience with her personable, warm and inviting spirit. There was never a dull moment and the energy increased as she closed out the show with the debut of her new single “Dream”.
It did not take long for the crowd to embrace the new single “Dream”, especially when they heard the lyrics “God gave me a dream that would not die, God can not lie”. A call and response moment was created as attendees echoed the lyrics back to Shirley through the entire song.
Murdock’s gift for reaching her fans was also demonstrated as she went into the crowd and sang the lyrics to individuals while holding their hands. It was such an awesome sight to see Shirley use various tools during the concert to bring the people closer to Jesus Christ.
Within moments of the concert ending, fans eagerly approached Murdock for autographs, promotional items and pictures. Yes, fans left with tangible items, but more importantly they left with an inspiring message.
