According to the feed-back from those who attended the Summer Night of Praise with Camdon Music recording artist Andrea McClurkin-Mellini, her mission was accomplished. People walked away encouraged, uplifted and empowered. Perfecting Faith Church was filled to capacity and no one left disappointed; the evening brought joy, laughter and tears. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Andrea paid homage to her parents and two sisters that have transitioned to their heavenly home. The intimate moment on stage with McClurkin-Mellini and lead guitarist , Michelle Nestor in an acoustic version of “Cry For Help” and “What A Love” set the tone for a touching and memorable tribute. “A Cry For Help” was also the title song for the biographical stage play penned by sibling Cheryl ‘Cheri’ McClurkin.
The phenomenal “All Girl Band” Natalie Ragins (organ/MD); Cassandra O’Neal (keyboard); Jhenese Hester (Drums) ; Michelle Osbourne (Bass); Michelle Nestor (lead/acoustic guitar) and Shauntae Young (Percussion ) showcased the true meaning of “girl power.” Opening acts Brittany Mellini and BET’s Sunday best finalist, Brightnie Jones were both well received. Everyone worked in unison showing support for each other. Special thanks for Yes Lord Radio, one of the top national gospel radio outlets for lending their support and covering the event.
“Thanks to my family and friends for showing me love and support. What a challenge and learning experience co-producing and headlining a concert, but the end result was Oh-MAZING!! The patience, maturity, camaraderie, instant connection and peace in the ‘camp’ was great. Everyone was equal,” says McClurkin-Mellini when asked about her recent concert.
