Season 2 Winner of BET’s Sunday Best Y’Anna Crawley celebrated the one year anniversary of her first internet radio show, “Billboard’s Top 20 Countdown with Y’Anna Crawley”, last week. The show, which averages 65,000 listeners each week, airs every Tuesday at 3 pm EST on uGospel Radio. “Billboard’s Top 20 Countdown with Y’Anna Crawley” features the Stellar Award-winning singer showcasing her fun and unique personality as she plays the top 20 Gospel songs in the country on Billboard. As the host of uGospel Radio’s first on-air program, Crawley does an amazing job of entertaining her faithful listeners, ensuring that they tune in each week for her show.
“Wow it’s been a year already?” says Crawley. “When I was presented with the opportunity to host my very own show on uGospel Radio, I was honored to see “My Promise” being fulfilled again. Radio is an area that I’ve expressed to my manager for some time that I was interested in tackling and I’m blessed to have the opportunity.”
Known for her combination of melodic R&B and “church-girl” vocals, Crawley was ushered into the gospel music community as the 2009 winner of BET’s hit singing competition, Sunday Best. Beating out thousands of hopefuls from across the country, Crawley wowed the judges and fans alike with her powerful voice and stage presence, becoming the show’s second winner. Last year the powerhouse singer took home the coveted New Artist of the Year Award during the 27th Annual Stellar Awards.
Currently, Crawley is working on her sophomore project which is scheduled to be released in 2014. Singer, songwriter and producer B. Slade (formerly known as Tonex) is currently in the studio with her working on the project. Fans that can’t wait for the full-length project to be released will be delighted to know that Crawley plans to release a new single this summer.
In related news, Crawley will be featured in her One Women Stage Production “My REEL-ILity to Destiny” this October. The production chronicles her life from childhood to present, and will serve as a ministry tool to equip women who struggle with the challenges of single parenting, low self esteem, and identity crisis. Crawley partnered with playwright/producer Joshua Jenkins, son of mega church Pastor John K. Jenkins, for the show. The singer also partners with the American Diabetes Association and COGIC during its 2013 AIM Conference Health & Wellness Expo.
