There’s an old song about stars falling on California but stars are also falling on Baltimore this weekend as Iheart Media radio executive and WCAO Heaven 600 AM morning show host Pastor Lee Michaels launches his annual East Coast Gospel Summit. Each year the event brings together the brightest names in gospel music to provide practical educational workshops and seminar sessions covering everything from music business ethics to training singers to sing in a choir.
The big event takes place Friday, October 30th through Sunday, November 1, 2015 at The Sheraton Towson Hotel, 903 Dulaney Valley Road, Towson, MD 21204. The activities begin Friday at 7:30 p.m. with a “State of Gospel Music” Question & Answer panel with music industry executives followed by a big concert starring Grammy Award winner Pastor Charles Jenkins who’s big hit “War” recently spent five weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart. Also joining the festivities are Stellar Award nominee Earnest Pugh, “Thirsty For The Rain” singer Keith Williams, Top 20 artist Jennifer Mekel and other dynamic artists.
The Saturday schedule a continental breakfast, a praise and worship session, an inspiring sermon and various workshops before an 8:00 PM Awards & Artist Showcase featuring big names such as BET Sunday Best star Alexis Spight, “Nobody Greater” vocalist Vashawn Mitchell, J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise, Lonnie Hunter, J. Moss and Deon Kipping among others. Visit www.
