Opening for a big name artist is a dream for any new artist. So you can only imagine how Tyscot’s newest signee, Marica Chisolm felt when she opened up for not only one major gospel artist, but an entire line-up of great gospel talents.
In her travels to promote the upcoming release of Simply Worship, Marica has been crisscrossing the country performing in various churches, conferences and major events. This past weekend, Chisolm kicked off Joyfest at Kings Dominion amusement park in Richmond, VA. The event also featured a slew of musical and comedic acts including Israel Houghton, Lecrae, LeAndria Johnson, comedian Sinbad and Kirk Franklin.
Marica was able to be in this great company of artist after winning a contest from Premier Productions, the organizer of Joyfest. Chisolm received the most votes and won the grand prize of being the opening act.
“I am so thankful for the opportunity to open for Joyfest, a big thank you to every person that voted for me and thank you to the judges that believe in my ministry,” said Chisolm.
