Trinity Dawson Makes Essence.com’s “Get Lifted: 20 Gospel Artists To Watch In 2016” List And ASCAP’s “On The Come Up” Freshman Class Edition

Coming off a powerful performance at BET’s Celebration of Gospel Prayer Breakfast last month in Los Angeles that featured the likes of Pastor Toure’ Roberts (One Church LA), Vashawn Mitchell, Brian Courtney Wilson, Tasha Page Lockhart, Travis Greene, Donald Lawrence among more, Trinity Dawson elevates to new heights with recently being named by Essence.com to their annual “Get Lifted: 20 Gospel Artists To Watch in 2016” list (View the entire list here: http://m.essence.com/galleries/gospel-artists-to-watch).

“This former college football star hit a low point in his 20’s with a degenerative injury that kept him from going pro. But things have been looking up for the relatively unknown artist and first time father, with his debut project [With All I Am] landing at #4 on the Billboard Gospel Charts,” the editorial states.

Additonally, Dawson was featured in ASCAP’s (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) “On The Come Up” Freshman Class Edition (read article here: http://goo.gl/9T5ZI3) along with singer/songwriter ItsTheDonBaby and recording artist/choregrapher/dancer I Am DLow.

Dawson celebrated a hit debut across multiple Billboard charts in 2015, with his freshman album WITH ALL I AM. The debut project from the Houston native landed at #4* on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart and made an impact in the Top 25 on Billboard’s Top Christian & Gospel Albums chart and across genres on Billboard’s Top Independent Albums chart landing in the Top 50. WITH ALL I AM marked the third highest charting debut from a new gospel solo artist, duo or group last year and spawned the Top 40 radio hit “Not That Easy”. The album also includes a version of “Not That Easy” featuring Dawson’s former roommate/teammate Andrew Hawkins (leading wide-reciever of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns).
