Producer Of Upcoming Rance Allen Release Delivers Diverse Collection Of Gospel Music In New CD
Toledo, OH — Praise and worshipper Chris Byrd is known for producing artists such as Pastor Rance Allen, writing singles for artists like Byron Cage, Beverly Crawford and Albertina Walker and for recording hit songs from his own group Chris Byrd and True Victory including “I’ll Go” and “Feel Him Movin’”. But now the artist, producer, songwriter, arranger, singer and preacher is ‘getting his praise on” with a brand new Minstrel House Music release entitled Vessel. Released in June, the project is a collection of inspiring tracks spanning the gamut from contemporary gospel, praise and worship, and urban gospel.
In speaking about his impetus for the release, he says he’s always wanted to be used by God. “I have always considered myself as a vessel for the Lord’s use,” says the artist. “I want to use the gifts and talents he’s given me for His glory.” The project’s highlights include the riveting, praise team-driven single, “All The Earth”, and the funky, inspirational “Victorious”. The lead single, “All The Earth”, declares the awesomeness and greatness of God. Also, penned by the artist, “Victorious” is an upbeat, uplifting song. “We’re in the fight to win; we’re more than a conquerors,” states Byrd. “We are winners.” The project aims proclaim that message as well as to bridge denominational and cultural barriers.
A protégé of gospel great Rance Allen, Byrd has been in the music industry for decades. Traveling nationally and internationally, his career catapulted after the release of Chris Byrd and True Victory’s CD, Feel Him Movin’ with the lead single’s video airing in heavy rotation on BET’s Dr. Bobby Jones’ Video Gospel. Throughout Byrd’s illustrious career, which includes top ten hits, national radio airplay and a full tour itinerary, he’s produced countless projects and written songs for artists such as Bishop Paul Morton, Bishop Eddie Long, Dr. Leonard Scott, Brian Courtney Wilson, Beverly Crawford, Albertina Walker and many others.
Byrd is hot off the heels on his just-produced live recording of the new Rance Allen project, a mixture of new and old. Allen, a giant in gospel music, remakes of his classics and introduces some of Byrd’s and Allen’s collaborations of newly-penned songs, just for the upcoming CD. Byrd met Allen when he was 19 and has been Byrd’s mentor since 1985. Currently, Byrd is the Minister of Music at Worship Center Church in Toledo, OH, under the leadership of the Pastor, Dr. Pat McKinstry. Chris sees himself as a modern day Minstrel, who has been anointed to impart, build up, strengthen, and revive music ministries in our churches with skillfulness playing instruments in the church and leading worship services. One of his goals is to teach other worship leaders how to strengthen relationships between Pastor and Minister of Music.
