Philadelphia, PA –Gospel Stellar Award Winner Jessica Greene will grace the runway stage to host the 2010 music and fashion event, The Gospel According to Fashion (TGAF) on Saturday, August 21st at the Painted Bride Theater located in Old City Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The show will commence with a Red Carpet Pre Show beginning at 7:00pm, followed by TGAF, which is scheduled to begin at 8:00pm, and culminating with a VIP Post-Show Reception.
Cameron Washington, CEO of Cameron Washington Inc., and creative producer of The Gospel According to Fashion has once again raised the bar in the industry of fashion and gospel music by coupling both soul and style to unite for an evening of soulful music, inspiration, and awe-inspiring fashion. During the event, prominent trailblazers such as: Chris Gees (Celebrity Hair Stylist), Dezzi Neal (Praise 103.9 FM Radio Personality and HIV/AIDS activist), Twyse (Gospel Hip-Hop Rapper), and George “Spanky” McCurdy (Renowned drummer for various R&B, Gospel, and Pop recording artists) will be recognized and honored for their creative talents and contributions in the fashion and music industry.
Notable guests who will be attending are: New York’s owned rising singing sensation and BET’s 2010 Gospel Award Best New Female Artist, Ms. Kristina Halloway; Aja from Kindred the Family Soul; Radio One Personality, Tiffany Bacon; Celebrity Fashion Stylists Mr. Anthony Henderson and Ms. Debra Ginyard; and other distinguished entertainment and media personalities.
According to Mr. Washington, “The fashion industry has always extended its roots into various genres of the music industry, but has fallen short as it relates to the gospel music industry.” As a background singer for various recording artists and rising event designer and wardrobe stylist, it has become the vision of Mr. Washington to provide a nucleus for the two entities to unite. The Gospel According to Fashion is a live music and fashion event, showcasing top designers and recording artists. In attendance the audience will be graced with special appearances by notable celebrities, and will be a part of celebrating the success of various personalities in both industries.
Last year, The Gospel According to Fashion took its maiden voyage in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. TGAF featured designers such as Philadelphia native Nate Jackson and New York’s own Austin Paul; along with performances by Amber Mifflin, Ashley Howard, and Gospel Dream’s David Jackson. The sold out event graced its audience with a special appearance by Adrian Anderson of Trinitee 5:7, and honored Celebrity Wardrobe Stylist Anthony Henderson, 2009 Gospel Stellar Award Winner Jessica Greene, and Makeup Artist /Vocalist Tamara Hamilton for their contributions in music and fashion.
