This week, the Gospel Group Soul Tempo wants to share a few exciting facts with fans and supporters about their music history and current happenings:
In the group’s early years, Soul Tempo connected with many influential artists including, Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons, founding member of the iconic rap group Run DMC, who later penned the group’s name “Soul Tempo” after hearing them sing in the early 90’s. Another interesting fact occurred in 2009 when Soul Tempo won the McDonald’s Gospel Fest Competition in Newark, NJ.
One of the group’s biggest breaks came when they were cast in the movie, The Preacher’s Wife featuring Whitney Houston and Denzel Washington.
Now, in 2013, as they chart new territory, Soul Tempo is honored to join Gospel greats, Erica Campbell, Ann Nesby and Byron Cage for the Gospel Music Fest taking place on the East Coast. On Sunday, June 23rd, Soul Tempo will be performing at the 4th Annual Gospel Music Fest with the Belle in Richmond, VA.
The Gospel Music Fest with the Belle will be held at Dogwood Dell in Byrd Park from5pm-9pm.
