Richmond’s first Women’s Empowerment Expo was a huge success. Taking place on Saturday, September 28th at the Richmond Raceway Complex Exhibition Hall the guest speakers were WPZZ’s Praise 104.7FM and CEO of The Belle Report, Sheilah Belle, The Belle, who opened up with prayer and gave words of Encouragement and the award winning actress Angela Basset twho was introduced by Radio One Founder Cathy Hughes.
The Expo also included musical performances by Grammy Award Winning singer and song writerChrisette Michele, as well as Stellar Award Winners Earnest Pugh who was simply amazing as he brought his crowd favorites to life and Isaac Carree.
Radio One’s Miss Community Clovia led an empowering interactive women’s forum called; Forgive, Forget & Move Forward. Marcus D Wiley of the Yolanda Adams Morning Show, flew in from Houston, Texas, on his birthday and also led a session entitled: “The Brand Called You. Are you Interesting?”
A special session entitled “Black Men Revealed,” was hosted by WCDX’s TT Torrez and WKJS’s King Tutt where the panel of diverse men answered questions by women covering a broad array of topics from love and relationships to money, power and family. Included on the panel were Marcus D. Wiley, Roscoe Cooper, Jr. and Comedian Sheryl Underwood among others.
The day also included a Fashion Show with Letricia Loftin of Sisterly Grace Dance Ministries, which was sponsored by Saxon Shoes & Gorjus, Inc. & Red Skirt Consignment.
Delivering the final performance was Chrisette Michele, with her many fans running to the front of the stage to get that perfect picture. This was really a blessed event for everyone in attendance with many already asking if it will return next year.
