Yesterday morning Gospel singer and choir director Ricky Dillard announced that he was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis in his lungs. On Twitter he revealed he has been going to doctors for the past two years because of constant phlegm in his chest and throat. Read his tweets below:
“I was recently diagnosed w/ Sarcoidosis in my lungs. Went to DRs for 2+ years, because I constantly had phlegm in my chest & throat… Wanted 2 share this, bc we all know how the saints r w/ rumors. I’m taking medication, but am fully functioning, working & shouting victory!”
Sarcoidosis is a disease in which inflammation occurs in the lymph nodes, lungs, liver, eyes, skin, or other tissues. The disease can affect almost any organ of the body, but it most commonly affects the lungs.
Let’s all keep Brother Dillard in our prayers!

I have Sarcoidosis too, have had it since the 80’s, not diagnosed till about 2000, for a skin biopsy. I have it in my lungs, sinuses, stomach, liver, thyroid, skin.

Praying for your speedy recovery.. I also have Sarcoidois in my lungs..I went to the doctor also because of a bad cough and was told I had cancer with only three months to live.. God is so good..I was sent to a pulmonologist in “1998” Oh, I guess the devil got that one wrong too. It’s now “2013” and I’m still here. It’s going to be a rough road, make sure you get a doctor that specializes in SARCOIDS. Pray and believe that GOD will heal you. My prayers also goes out for the rest of the Sarcoid Family..

my brother continue to trust God and God only and he will see you through.I too am a sarcoidosis victim but in christ I’m a overcomer of this awful diease.I pastor a church down here in florida where the weather is brutal for sarcoidosis but God is faithful so my prayers are with you.blessings to you.

I was diagnosed in 1978 with Sarcoids in both lungs. GOD IS ABLE in 2009 had double lungs transplant. But god is a healer just have faith he’s working it out for you.Be Bless

Dear Mr Dillard
I too have been diagnosed with sarcoidosis since 2012. i’ve been battling with this disease for the past two years. As an african-american, it affects mostly Black males. My father had it some years ago. His has disappeared on its own. On top of having this pulmonary condition, i have a weak left valve in my heart. I’ve had palpatations all of my life. I am only 46 years ago. My wife has seizures steming from a car accident 2 years ago. Our bodies are a hot mess….but God can and will heal us from all our diseases. God bless you ricky dillard. I have sarcoidosis in my lungs,eyes, skin and I found out that I had it when i was 24 yrs old and now Im 47yrs old and just last year my daughter found out that she has it as well we must pray for each other.

I ALSO HAVE SARCOIDOSIS,I LEARN LAST YEAR.WHT UPSETS ME THE MOST IT THE THEY KNOW LITTLE ABOUT IT.ITS ON MY LUNGS,NOSES FACE.I DON’T KNW WHT TO DO.GLORY TO GOD I GO TOO CLEVELAND CLINI.THE PAIN IN MY CHEST REALLY HURTS BAD WHN IT RAINS.SOMETIMES I HURT FRM HEAD TO MY FEET.ALL I CAN SAY IS LORD YU KNW.

I also have sarcoidosis of the lungs I was diagnosed 12 years ago I am grateful for everyday that the lord gives me to Thank God and Praise His Holy name no matter how challenging the task Sarcoidosis is the condition God is my physician Nobody told me the road would be easy I don’t believe he brought me this far to leave me
