NEW MUSIC: Lisa Nicole – “Just To Be Close To You” Listen Now

Lisa Nicole, formerly Lisa Kimmey, is back with a soul-stirring new single, “Just To Be Close To You,” that speaks to the heart of the human experience and the longing for connection with the divine.

In her own words, Lisa reflects on the inspiration behind the song: “Life can be so demanding, and we all have our lists of ‘must do’s’ and ‘want to’s’ and sometimes the most important must do can fall lower and lower on our list of priorities. We find ourselves stressed, overwhelmed, and then it’s like the light goes on and we go running back to our first love, to our ultimate need, and that is God and His presence.”

With poignant lyrics and heartfelt melodies, Lisa captures the universal struggle of drifting from our spiritual center amidst the chaos of everyday life. “I wanted to sing about the very human tendency to drift from the Lord, to put everything else first, and speak of the desperate need in my heart to remain close to Him,” she shares. “I hope this song resonates with those that hear it and that it evokes the same spirit of the original. That it encourages someone to pause, take a breath, and spend some time with Jesus.”

Lisa Nicole’s musical journey has been a remarkable one. Best known as a member and lead songwriter of the chart-topping Contemporary Christian music trio Out of Eden with her sisters Andrea Kimmey-Baca and Danielle Kimmey Torrez, Lisa has left an indelible mark on the industry. With seven career albums released from 1994 to 2006, including the critically-acclaimed Lovin’ the Day, More Than You Know, and Hymns, the trio garnered two Dove Awards and earned a Grammy Award nomination.

Lisa also hosted original programming for the Gospel Music Channel and co-hosted the Verizon Wireless “How Sweet the Sound” choir competition alongside Donald Lawrence. Additionally, she has written and produced songs for numerous artists, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of Christian and gospel music.
