The angelic-voiced Keyondra Lockett spent years singing with the dynamic group Zie’l before launching her solo career in 2015. Since then, she has emerged as not only a gifted vocalist and songwriter, but a trendsetting creative force and a visionary businesswoman. While thriving in multiple professional lanes, Lockett is excited to announce the release of her infectious new single “Try”. Produced by Tedy P (Jor’Dan Armstrong, Briana Babineaux, Uncle Reece, Micah Stampley ), “Try” is an arresting mid-tempo song that is reflective, empowering and represents the voice of young people around the world striving to live their best lives. “Try” is inspirational without being preachy, boasting refreshing, lush urban pop overtures. “Try” is available February 16th on all digital music outlets, and precedes the summer release of Keyondra’s debut solo album.
Next month, Lockett will present the second installation of the “We Got Next” artist showcase and panel during Stellar Awards weekend in Las Vegas. The event will be hosted by Keyondra and Candy West. Featured performances include Alexis Speight, Jabari Johnson and Jeremiah Hicks, while featured expert panelists include Gerard Bonner, Darnell Nolin, Kim Lockett, Stan Jones and more.
“I love being able to freely add beauty to the world in my unique way,” says Lockett. “Whether through song, through our fashion line, or through celebrating and supporting the artist community through our live events, my goal is to show that – as a believer – you can be beautiful, modest, fashion forward and inspirational, all while representing Jesus.”
