Multi-talented singer, songwriter, and producer Myron Butler celebrates continued recognition for his outstanding achievements in gospel music with a 2014 Stellar Award nomination for Producer of the Year for Tamela Mann’s chart-topping best-selling CD, Best Days.
Featuring co-production by gospel superstar Kirk Franklin, Best Days launched the cross-over hit tune “Take Me To The King”. The song has enjoyed a lengthy tenure on Billboard Gospel Songs chart peaking at #1 and is still enjoying top 10 to date. Also peaking at #15 on Billboard R&B Songs chart and seeing top 50 placements on Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts respectively, the song continues to blur airplay genre lines with over 25 weeks spent at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Radio Chart and its current top 10 ranking on the Urban AC radio chart.
The genre-transcending number is the first single from Mann’s album ‘Best Days’ – the year’s top-selling gospel album. Currently #1 on Billboard Gospel Sales chart for 22 weeks to date, the album boasts U.S. sales in excess of 350k and is swiftly approaching Gold status after peaking at #14 on Billboard 200. A mainstay on Billboard Gospel Albums chart’s #1 position with the majority of its 69-week tenure in the tally’s top 5.
The success of the album comes as another highlight to Butler’s already decorated resume which features production for the likes of Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, Donald Lawrence, Smokie Norful, Marvin Sapp, and many more.
