MOBO Award nominee, Sarah Téibo made history on Wednesday 18th January 2017 when she sold out London’s Hard Rock Cafe at her headline gig ‘An Evening With Sarah Téibo’
In what has been dubbed a ‘UK Gospel first’ for the iconic venue that has hosted the likes of Aerosmith, Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney, the incredibly talented soulful songstress performed to a packed audience, hits from her debut album ‘Walk With Me’. Highlights included her very touching and personal songs ‘Keep the Faith’ and ‘I Long For You’, as she took to the stage after opening performances from some of UK Gospel’s finest artists; Lurine Cato, Isaiah Raymond, Israel Allen and TNeek for the first part of her performance.
The second half of the night saw her perform some gospel classics including ‘Love’ by Kirk Franklin, ‘Falling In Love With Jesus’ by Jonathan Butler and ‘I Found Him’ by Kim Burrell. Sarah even showed the audience an angle of her they hadn’t seen before, belting a fusion of Motown, Old School Gospel and Jazz, producing a fresh and unique sound as she showcased some new music from her upcoming project.
It was a memorable night that showed Sarah is constantly evolving and creating and leaving the audience wanting more. The fact that it took place in a historic venue was just the icing on the cake!
