Entrepreneurs for Veterans and Community (EVC) has partnered with Yesha Ministries to host a special comedy show featuring comedian Marcus D Wiley of the Yolanda Adams Morning Show, on Friday, December 23, 2011 at Yesha Fellowship Hall located at 2308 Snyder Avenue in Philadelphia. The show entitled, Ain’t Life Funny, is in support of disabled veterans and local service men and women who are experiencing great difficulty since returning home from active duty.
Valerie Turner, CEO and President of EVC, felt compelled to help facilitate an annual event designed to benefit veteran families and community programs in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania geographic area, after participating in a National Conference Call held by First Lady Michelle Obama in May of this year to address the need for ongoing support to our veterans.
“After I got off the call, I told my husband – who is a former Marine Corp drill instructor and a disabled veteran, that we must do something in support of our troops,” said Turner. “So, in a leap of faith, we tapped into our own savings to support this endeavor, knowing that what we take today may help to shape a better future for tomorrow.”
EVC consists of various business leaders that have agreed to merge together for the purpose of promoting events that will raise funds to be donated to veteran and community initiatives.
“These are business leaders who are also sacrificing their own revenue to help raise funds that will help support those who are less fortunate,” Turner said.
This event will also showcase the talents of Horace “HB” Sanders of BET’s Comic View, Rod Z of Orlando Improv, and Philly’s own Buddy Love.
