American Idol Finalist Mandisa is entering the final stretch of promotion for her upcoming album, “Overcomer”, which will hit stores August 27, 2013.
The title track, “Overcomer”, was released back in July and hit the top 20 in its third week. Currently, the song is #1 on the Christian Digital Songs chart, #8 on the Christian Songs chart and #12 on the Christian Adult Contemporary chart.
Some may not actually be aware that the upbeat track was inspired by the health journey of “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts, who had a life-threatening battle with Cancer.
“You’re not an ‘Overcomer’ if you don’t face anything difficult,” says Mandisa. “You are an ‘Overcomer’ if you face your battles and come out on top, just as I have, walking through the battles in my own life.”
