Through music, many emotions can be expressed. Song lyrics are at times the vehicle of communicating a desire, a frustration, a life event, compassion or adoration for something or someone. Songwriter Lindsey DeBerry has penned a beautiful song to express appreciation for someone dear.
“You Have Inspired Me” is an inspirational song that was written in mind for listeners to reflect on and share with a special person deserving of appreciation. DeBerry’s mother was his motivation for writing the song.
“My mother, who is without a doubt the greatest mother in the world, was my inspiration behind the song,” DeBerry expresses. “Like many mothers, she was unconditionally there for me my entire life – through good and bad, and when I was sick or well.
Although a newcomer to Gospel music, DeBerry commissioned some of Gospel music’s most talented musicians to perform on the track: Trent Phillips – arrangement/keys (Bishop Paul Morton, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Donnie McClurkin), Thomas Hardin, Jr. – organ (CeCe Winans, VaShawn Mitchell), and Kevin Kelley – drums (VaShawn Mitchell, Kurt Carr, Donnie McClurkin, Bishop Paul Morton). “You Have Inspired Me” is produced by Salem Baptist Church Minister of Music and poignant songwriter Ananias “Markey” Montague. The sweet vocals on the song are performed by Carole Jean Pierre.
“It was truly an honor to work with Lindsey Deberry,” says Montague. “The song truly touched my heart. I often find myself singing the verse throughout the course of my day.” He continues, “We all have that person in our life who has given us that extra push to be the best that we can be. I love the message of this song. It will be a blessing to the world.”
“You Have Inspired Me” is DeBerry’s debut single and is available on all digital music outlets now.
“Through this song, you can connect more with people in your life who have encouraged you to reach your goals or have supported your ad picked you up when you were down,” DeBerry explains. “As a form of gratitude and enduring love, send this song to the person you could never repay for being kind to you. The lyrics can speak for you.”
In addition to releasing this first single, DeBerry has also launched his own independent music label BLT Entertainment. DeBerry plans to release a album this year and more music in the future.
