Kyla Jade may be best known as one of the standout voices of The Nashville Super Choir, bringing powerful praise into living rooms around the country on BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel, but she is establishing herself as a formidable singer in her own right.
This year alone, Kyla has led morning praise & worship on the Tom Joyner One Love Cruise; appeared in the 2014 production of “Perilous Times” at Music Hall in Downtown Detroit, MI; and is featured on Bobby Jones’ current CD REJOICE WITH ME where her vocals are being praised as “vibrant and stellar.” Now, Kyla Jade is set to release her first single – a stirring rendition of the classic “Hello Sunshine.” The single will be released May 23and will be available for purchase on www.kylasings.com for a limited time.
Produced by Derrick Lee, Bobby Jones’ long time music director, “Hello Sunshine” showcases Kyla’s extraordinarily lush vocals as she gives the love song a faith-filled twist. “I had a great time recording this song,” says Kyla. “I wanted to give it my own stamp without losing any of the soulfulness of other versions recorded by such greats as Wilson Pickett, Maceo Woods and Aretha Franklin. I wanted to give it a fresh sound for 2014. ‘Hello Sunshine’ always made me happy when I heard it, and I hope people feel the same way when they hear my interpretation of the song.”
Kyla Jade is Music & Arts Director at Cathedral of Praise C.O.G.I.C. where Bishop Jerry L. Maynard is the senior pastor.
“Kyla is really one of the most dynamic singers I have heard. Her musical gift is vast and captivating and we look forward to working with Kyla on a full album,” says Bishop Maynard. ‘Hello Sunshine’ provides just a taste of what she has to offer, and I love her creative rendition of this classic song.”
