With a fresh anointing and a bold spirit, Grammy nominee and Stellar & Dove Award winning recording artist, writer and producer Kierra Sheard, is back with her fifth CD, FREE. For the first time in her solo recording career, the daughter of Karen Clark Sheard (of the legendary Clark Sisters) and Bishop J Drew Sheard of Detroit, Michigan has delivered a live recording packed with soul stirring emotions and messages of hope that will bless and “free” souls from song to song on this 12 track release.
To give a few of her fans an early listen to her blazing new album, Kierra held an intimate listening party at Warmdaddy’s in Philadelphia on October 17, 2011. During the listening party, she told those in attendance the night wasn’t about her, it was all about the fans. She doesn’t view her fans as simply “buyers”, but as people who love her and her music. Kierra informed the crowd she is able to support and push this album like she never has before. This is possible because she finished school and is able to focus entirely on her career. While reflecting on the album, she mentioned there were times her and her mother listened to the album and became teary eyed. To them, it sounded like a “grown woman” pouring her heart out in some of the songs, instead of little KiKi.
After autographing copies of the album and mingling with the audience, Kierra took the stage to perform. She serenaded the crowd with a heart-filled performance of her single, “You Are”. Without a band or background singers, Kierra commanded the stage and poured her heart and soul into the performance. The audience loved every minute of the performance, which was evident by the continuous applauds and standing ovations. Even after the performance was over, the crowd continued to roar as Kierra left the stage and headed to her seat. The album is amazing, Kierra was amazing, and overall the listening party was one you didn’t want to miss.
