Keyondra Lockett has embarked on and embraced her solo career inking songs and a history-making deal. Former singer of the two-time stellar nominated group Zie’l, Keyondra is not only taking the gospel industry by storm with her melodic voice and new music but, she has been graced with the honor to be the first ever gospel artist in the history of gospel to ink a deal with her own teen doll. The toy inventor of Kenya® took one look at Keyondra, listened to her sweet voice and inspirational messages and knew she would help young girls through her positive lyrics to believe in themselves and teach them the value of growing up proud.
The Kenya® doll brand has been one of Americas favorite ethnic doll brands and a staple in the African American community for 25 years. New on the Teen Scene™ is Kenya’s friend singing sensation, Keyondra Lockett who helps Kenya® as they face new encounters of Junior High School. Together they overcome daily challenges on the Teen-Scene™. Kenya® has empowered moms for years and now their daughters can play with her and their new friend Keyondra.
Keyondra says, “she is humbled and honored to open a new door in the gospel industry that allows her to speak to children and millennials with a positive message through music and doll play.” Kenya® has been a trusted brand name with kids of color, helping them to utilize their own creative imagination with a doll that shares their color and likeness.
Kenya® and Friends was created to provide girls of color with a toy that reflects their appearance (both skin tone and features) and can be used as a tool to instill self-esteem. Keyondra will attend the Dallas Toy Fair, September 27-29, to meet with buyers of the doll.
