There’s nothing like the feeling of expectation, knowing that you’re on the verge of a major blessing. Gospel artist and songwriter Apostle Kevin Davidson understands being on the edge of a breakthrough. His new song, “Something Happens”, recorded with the UCICC (United Council of Independent Christian Churches) Fellowship Choir reminds the listener of what happens when we leave our cares in the hand of the Master. Already charting on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart, the moving ballad is leaving worshipers with lifted hands.
Davidson wrote the title cut, a moving and captivating song about the power of God. It is led by the anointed psalmist, Michelle Prather of the Kurt Carr Singers. “The song got into my spirit while I was studying about the miracles of Jesus,” shares Davidson. “I want listeners to know that, like Jesus, we, too, can declare and decree miracles.”
Kevin Davidson, who has graced the sacred stage with anointed artistry, is no stranger to the Gospel music industry. Possessing a God-given vocal, songwriting, and musical talent, he has touched hearts and changed lives with his biblically inspired words, soul-rendering melodies, and Spirit-filled presence. His influence on the Gospel music industry is great, contributing songs like “Fight On”, “I Know What Prayer Can Do” and “Bounce Back”. Gospel icon Shirley Caesar recorded his song “Lift Him Up” and inspirational crooner Earnest Pugh covered his “God Wants To Heal You”. Seen on Bobby Jones Presents on the IMPACT Network, the Bill Gaither Show and TBN, Davidson is putting the finishing touches on a brand new release on LVP Entertainment called Something Happens scheduled to drop in summer 2013. Along with the UCICC Fellowship Choir, Davidson has returned with the lead single, “Something Happens”.
The worship ballad is a timely, refreshing message of healing, provision, and reverence which encourages listeners to not lose hope and keep their eyes fixed on the hills from whence cometh their help. It ministers faith to the faithless and hope to the hopeless. The soft, peaceful tune undoubtedly speaks to the broken places of one’s heart and spirit while bringing peace to one’s storm, a refreshing calm to one’s soul, and restoration to one’s health.
Davidson knows first-hand about major health challenges, experiencing a stroke seven years ago. He is a walking testimony of the healing power of God and knows how faith played part in that healing. “As God’s children, we must have faith, trust God and take Him at His word”, Davidson declares. “The scripture Matthew 9:29 tells us, ‘According to your faith be it unto you.’ I want every listener to come to a greater level of faith to believe God for instantaneous miracles knowing that God can turn any situation around because there is nothing too hard for God.”
Even in the life of the strongest believer, Davidson knows that discouragement and doubt can take over. Before his own healing, he experienced fear himself. He says, “The thoughts of giving up came but I had to remind myself that God was able to bring me through the situation. I also had to remind myself of what God had already done in my own life.” A true witness to others holding on during difficult times, Davidson says, “Thoughts of quitting may come, but we all have to believe that God is able to bring us through it.”
His forthcoming CD, Something Happens, is certain to keep the saints persevering, rejuvenating worshipers everywhere. Showcasing Davidson’s riveting songwriting ability and the UCICC Fellowship Choir’s spirited vocals, the project displays Gospel music at its best.
Raised in a strong Pentecostal home, Kevin Davidson was taught at an early age about the power of God. With an unquenchable desire to experience God’s life-changing power for himself, Davidson made his calling and election sure and rendered his life to the Lord at 16 years of age.
He is the National Minister of Music of the United Council of Independent Christian Churches. The denominational organization is headed by Bishop Laurence V. Plummer, Sr., who tapped Davidson for the coveted role.
