Jacksonville, Florida was the epic center for one of the largest Award Shows for independent artists in gospel music history. The first round of awards for the 2012 Rhythm of Gospel Awards was announced Friday, July 27th, 2012. Ashro Records gospel recording artist Dr. Lemmie Battles won an award for Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year. It was a packed house where artists traveled from coast to coast to celebrate gospel music. A total of 40 awards were presented and every genre was represented.
This has been an amazing year for Dr. Battles whom recently celebrated her 60th Birthday, 19th Annual Musical and signed with Ashro Records. She is truly blessed and the best is yet to come.
Dr. Battles is currently in the studio working on her new project with some of the best producers and composers in the industry. Her contributions to the gospel music industry are well noted. From singing with the Chicago Mass Choir to balancing ministry and her solo career, it is her heart’s desire to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ wherever she goes. Dr. Battles would like to extend her gratitude and appreciation to everyone who has supported her ministry over the years.
