3b4jHoy (pronounced three-before-joy) is a South Florida-based, Christian girl group which aims to spread the gospel through music. Made up of sisters Heather, Dominique and Claudette Farquharson, 3b4jHoy has a sound that’s mesmerizing as they mix pop, world, urban and even reggae flavors, creating something uniquely theirs. They’ve been blessed to open up for artists such as Smokie Norful, J Moss, Papa San and others. Receiving one rave review after another, the ensemble is now preparing to drop a brand new release in early 2012.
Earlier this year, the threesome dropped their first single, “The One I Need”. The tranquil and uplifting song speaks of the necessity of a relationship with the Lord. Bob Marovich of TheBlackGospelBlog.com says, “On ‘The One I Need’, the lead single from their forthcoming album of the same name – and their first national release – 3b4jHoy loft high, tight and sweet laid-back harmonies over a calm, flowing melody that mixes new age with praise and worship. While soloing, the ladies wrap their gentle gospel chops around the lyrics.”
Now the young women have just dropped the second single from The One I Need. The new single is entitled “I Don’t Want To Know” and the track finds the vocalists singing about their love and need for God. It’s a sugary and mellow ballad and showcases the exceptional harmonies of the sisters. No matter who’s in earshot, the trio always seems to impress. Industry veteran Jeff Majors says, “Stunning harmony, original songwriting, and clear devotion to the Lord are exemplified by their very name.”
