CeCe Winans was recently honored at the 20th Annual First Ladies High Tea at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. She was presented with the Spirit Award for her years of inspirational influence in the music industry and her lifestyle that lines up with what she sings about. She was pleasantly surprised to see her niece, actress/singer Debra Joy Winans present her with the award. The hotel lobby was rustling with women in hats of all shapes and sizes, and every seat in the ballroom appeared to be filled with women excited to be there to support the honorees. In addition to Winans the other honorees include: Congresswoman Karen Bass (Legacy Award); Wendy Raquel Robinson (Shining Star Award); Dr. Yutaka Nihara (Focus Award) and First Lady Service Awards were presented to: Cynthia Buelna (Restauracion Total); Patricia Swancy (Peace Apostolic Church); Regina Taylor (Park Windsor Baptist Church); Morgen Wilbourne (Pacific Crossroads Church).
This year Winans was also named Gospel Artist of the Year and received Contemporary Gospel|Urban Worship Album of the Year
