Dallas native and The Potter’s House Worship Leader Candy West will release her debut album Candy West Live on Friday August 12, 2016 through all major digital retailers.Candy West Live is produced by Candy West, Myron Butler and Deonis Cook and includes songwriting by West, Butler and Shanika Bereal (“Bless This House,” Dorinda Clark Cole). Having lent her voice to more than 40 albums over the last 20+ years, and for notable live events including the 2016 Essence Music Festival, this personal project gave West a chance to be intimate and share her faith, music and heart.
“This record is the soundtrack of faith. It’s the soundtrack for a believer that wants a real relationship with God,” shares West. “One of my favorite songs on the record is one of the most honest songs I’ve written and probably one of the most honest songs I’ll ever sing: it’s called Contentment. The song talks about being between purpose and destiny; where it’s uncomfortable, but you still know and are trusting that God has a plan.”
Other songs on the upcoming release which have a strong buzz surrounding them are lead single “Turnaround,” “Great and Mighty Is He” and “My Praise Is My Weapon.”
