Throughout Bertrance Devon Triche’s journey for emotional freedom, he learned that not only do real men cry, but without those tears an emotional barrier hinders every relationship they encounter. This reaction leaves them to experience the pangs of an emotionless life. His desire is for men to freely express and embrace their emotions. That they be healed to effectively function as brothers, sons, uncles, fathers, husbands and friends. Thus, he wrote the inspirational book, “Should Men Cry?” as an attempt to shatter the stigma that “real men don’t cry.”
“I believe this book is transformational,” says Triche. “My book is not only for men, but also for the women who love and support them. We all desire to be free and lead a healthy, successful life. “Should Men Cry?” will help men dispel stereotypes and gain the courage to truly achieve those aims.”
Triche first thought about the idea of men crying while on vacation in Hawaii. He had a vision of the struggles men face and the decisions that follow. He began to consider his personal inability to express emotions, which fueled the longing to answer the question, should men cry?
“We all have a desire to be free, that’s the American dream. Men have the greatest aspirations to lead a free and healthy life, but we find ourselves struggling emotionally. Stereotypes plague our minds on a regular basis. We have to be strong fearless and courageous. This book will dispel the myths and lies that real men don’t cry or show any emotions. This book is for men who want to live a life of emotional freedom and women who support them,” says Triche.

What makes tears befitting for a man? Compassion, brokenness and humility are characteristics that are at the heart of yielding to the Holy Spirit. Show me a man who is void of these characteristics and I will show you a man who is void of a true relationship with Christ. The Bible admonishes that we should know Him in His sufferings and become acquainted with His grief.
Anybody experiencing true grief has cried, if only behind closed doors. I’ve seen men in my family, and others who have influenced me, cry. These are men’s men; strong men, men who have no flaws in their manhood, if you know what I mean. Most of these men are married to women, who were born female and are comfortable embracing their femininity.
