Motown Gospel is honored to celebrate 11 Stellar Gospel Music Awards nominations. Multi-Stellar Gospel Music Award winner Tasha Cobbs Leonard earns eight nominations, while dynamic husband and wife duo Jerard & Jovaun earns two nominations. A Motown Gospel Christmas album earns one nomination in the Special Event CD of the Year category. The Stellar Gospel Music Awards announced 2020 nominees on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
Global chart-topper Tasha Cobbs Leonard leads the Motown Gospel family with an impressive eight Stellar Award nominations for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for “This is a Move (Live),” Album of the Year/Contemporary Album of the Year/Praise and Worship CD of the Year for Heart. Passion. Pursuit.: Live at Passion City Church, Albertina Walker Female Vocalist of the Year, and Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year. Tasha also earns a nod for Producer of the Year for her production work with her husband and fellow nominee, Capitol CMG writer Kenneth Leonard, Jr., on the William Murphy album Settle Here.
Motown Gospel’s emerging musical duo & worship leaders, Jerard & Jovaun, earns their first Stellar Gospel Music Award nomination. The duo received nods in the coveted New Artist of the Year category and for Contemporary Duo/Chorus Group of the Year for their debut EP What a Beautiful Name.
Motown Gospel is honored to be recognized amongst their musical peers with their Stellar Award nomination for Special Event Album of the Year for A Motown Gospel Christmas; a Christmas compilation album featuring various Motown Gospel recording artists including Brian Courtney Wilson, Lexi, Gene Moore, and 2020 Stellar Awards nominees Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Jerard & Jovaun.
