ON LOCATION: MEMPHIS (formerly the Memphis International Film Festival) presents a competitive 4-day festival that features a diverse mix of local and global films. Now it its fifteenth year, the On LOCATION: MEMPHIS International Film & Music Fest is placing renewed emphasis on the music portion of its program this year. Six well-known venues around the Memphis area (Le Chardonnay, Otherlands, Java Cabana, Newby’s, and the 1884 Lounge) will host a variety of diverse acts the weekend of April 24-27.
The music kicks off at Newby’s tonight, Thursday April 24th, as popular Memphis bands The Side Street Steppers and The Scruffs will take to the stage as part of the Opening Night after party. On Friday April 25th, the volume gets cranked up as Newby’s welcomes a variety of backpack rap and hip-hop performers.
Le Chardonnay will be home to neo-soul, jazz, and R&B and Gospel music’s ETHAN KENT. Ethan is on tap to perform live Saturday April 26th at Le Chardonnay at 2094 Madison Avenue and will be bringing his inspirational soul and contemporary Gospel as the only Christian/Gospel act at this year’s music portion of the film festival. The Neo-Soul, Jazz, R&B showcase at Le Chardonnay is free.
Ethan Kent released his debut project WORK IN PROGRESS in January and has two successful radio singles – “My Hope Is In Glory” reaching Top 30 on BDS Gospel Chart and his new single “Bring Us To Our Knees” which has recently peaked in the Top 30 as well.
