TolumiDE (pronounced toe-lu-MEE-day), one of the most exciting gospel artists to hit the stage in years, has been recognized by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA). An organization created to highlight and educate musicians in the Nation’s Capital, annually WAMA announces stand-out artists in a variety of categories. TolumiDE was nominated twice in the Gospel/Inspirational category. She received a nod for Gospel/Inspirational Vocalist and another one for Gospel/Inspirational Recording for her debut project, My Love. WAMA will be handing out awards on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 8PM at The State Theatre (220 N. Washington Falls Church, VA – 703.237.0300). TolumiDE has been promoting her debut project, My Love. The D.C.-based, urban contemporary artist who includes hip-hop, R&B and African rhythms in her unique sound, has been heard nationally on dozens of gospel radio stations. Songs like her CD’s title tune, “My Love” and the laid-back “What I’d Like To Be” have the gospel music industry talking about the Nigerian songstress. She’s been covered in the Afro American, The D.C.
