She is noted as a powerhouse vocalist of the ‘new school’ generation, but she captures the essence of traditional gospel and “church” music with an electrifying delivery. Her stylish fashion sence and her hard working drive and stamina has established her as one of the genres rising female vocalist; positioning herself for longevity in gospel music. Monica Lisa Stevenson is preparing to release her first nationally distributed CD project LIVE IN ATLANTA on May 14. Monica’s CD will be released exclusively through Nashville, TN based Central South Distribution.
The project includes her rising radio single “Right There” and a stand out contemporary track “Lead Me”. LIVE IN ATLANTA also features a special guest appearance by The Princess of Gospel Angela Spivey on the foot stomping, fiery cut “Hold On”.
To celebrate LIVE IN ATLANTA, Stevenson invited her friends Sheilah Belle (The Belle Report), Lowell Pye (Award Winning Gospel Vocalist), Small Fyre (Comedian), Shawn Bigby (Gospel Singer) and Terrence Cotton (Gospel Singer) to join her on May 14 in Atlanta. The concert event will take place at New Life International Family Church, 5349 Snapfinger Woods Dr., Decatur, GA at 7:30PM.
Stevenson recently took her dynamic music ministry abroad in December of 2012 as part of Earl Bynum International Ministries who books gospel artists each year to tour throughout Europe. Stevenson and her team of singers launched their first major international tour of Italy stopping in Venezia, La Spezia, Sardina, Sassari, Cagliari, Cerro, Veronese, Ascoli Piceno, Perugia, Roma; and on to Bellinzona, Switzerland.
Stevenson has been honored to sing with the legendary Caravans, Kathy Taylor, Pastor Shirley Caesar, The Canton Spirituals, The Williams Brothers, Pastor Marvin Sapp and many others. She earned two Stellar Award Nominations for her 2009 project Finally…In God’s Time and was cast for an appearance in the Tyler Perry movie Madea’s Big Happy Family. An esteemed milestone for Stevenson was to record “Lord Keep Me” (Day by Day), made a classic by the legendary Caravan’sfounder the late Dr. Albertina Walker, and to minister the song at the celebrated gospel queen’s home going service. Adding to this honor, Stevenson recently collaborated in a duet with Evangelist Dorothy Norwood on her 2011 single “Just That Good”.
