Detroit native Lisa Page Brooks broke Marvin Sapp’s nearly seven month chokehold on the top slot on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart in 2010 when her #1 smash “I Want To Thank You” pushed his “The Best in Me” to the side. It’s just one of many feats in a career that has seen Brooks perform for a sitting President, earn a Grammy Award nomination, snag a Stellar Award, tour the world with the well-known gospel quartet Witness and star in several touring stage productions. Brooks has now put the finishing touches on her forthcoming CD, “Better Than Life,” scheduled for release on Habakkuk Music in Spring 2013. Brooks is tapped to be the 2013 spokesperson for the American Heart/Stroke Association. In this capacity she will tour and raise awareness about heart health and stroke prevention.
