Y’Anna Crawley and The Promise Foundation present A Concert For a Cause, a musical tribute to benefit the Dontavies Boatwright scholarship fund. On Wednesday December 19 Sunday Best Finalist will come together and pay tribute to Dontavies Boatwright through song at the historic Howard Theatre in Washington DC.
This event will celebrate the life and legacy of Dontavies Boatwright, Season II finalist of Sunday Best, who expired on Thursday November 8, 2012 of an apparent heart attack. All of the proceeds raised from ticket sales will be donated to a scholarship fund that has been established in his memory for students who are aspiring musicians and singers.
A Concert For A Cause will feature the following Sunday Best Finalists:
Latice Crawford– “Dontavies was my buddy. I am really going to miss the jokes, those text and calls from him. His voice, talent and anointing was amazing and he was truly a gift from God.”
Zebulon Ellis– “We all want that kind of friend that we can laugh with, and the kind of friend who can enjoy and appreciate the same things in life. After we bonded musically, it was easy to be brothers. I’ll miss laughing & sharing life with my brother, my friend.”
John McClure Jr– “I’m excited to be a part of such a momentous occasion. Being able to share the stage and celebrate the life of Dontavies Boatwright with some of my Sunday Best Season 2 Alum will be special. His legacy lives on through all of us.”
Clifton Ross III– “I’m so excited to be sharing the stage with my Sunday Best family again. I will miss him being on stage with us but I know that he’s looking down on us — smiling. This event is an amazing effort and I’m so honored to be apart.”
Y’Anna Crawley– “I’m beyond excited to have an opportunity to share the stage with my fellow Sunday Best family. It’s been a long time coming, and to do it at The Howard Theatre where legends have performed is even more exciting. Dontavies was a real friend and brother. He was one of the most humble and funniest people you would ever meet. It’s in the spirit of giving that we’re gathering to celebrate the life of one who’s gone too soon. He will be missed.”
