Contemporary Gospel artist Theresa Pinkney has been celebrating her recent ministry successes. Known for her riveting, feel-good track, “Count It All Joy”, the #1 song for 2011 on CJBRadio.com, the new artist has been capturing the hearts and ears of the gospel music industry. Hot on the heels of her 2012 Gospel Blue M.I.C. Christian Jukebox Achievement Award, the soulful songstress is celebrating once again. She received an astounding six first round nominations for the DMV Christian Music Awards. The soprano received nominations for Contemporary Gospel Artist, Rhythm & Praise (Female), Song of the Year (for “Never Alone”), Album of the Year (for “Me Against The World”), Female Artist of the Year and Female Indie Artist of the Year.
The 1st Annual DMV Christian Music Awards is the brainchild of 3HP head, Troy Edwards, and seeks to recognize the array of talent in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Also this month finds the singer flying to Los Angeles to sing at the upcoming Los Angeles Faithbase Music & Media Conference. Organized by the Southern California Gospel Announcers Guild, the event will feature Pinkney as she performs during Saturday’s Nightly Musical and Showcase on October 6th.
The following week, Pinkney will be ministering at the Excellence In Christian Music Awards. A special guest for the evening, Theresa, a graduate of the ECMA, will be singing at the Special Gala Event. Happening on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at THEARC, located at 1901 Mississippi Avenue, SE, in Washington, DC, the event will feature the talents of many of Gospel music’s up-and-coming artists.
Theresa Pinkney, who hails from the Washington, D.C. area, attended the renowned Duke Ellington School of the Arts. A former member of the gospel ensemble, Just Breathe, and current member of Pastor Earl Miller & Purity, Pinkney brings a sincerity and sweetness to gospel music.
